Principal Investigators
Researchers
Stephen Hicks
Stephen is a multi-displinary seismologist, involved in a wide range of problems from lithosphere and upper mantle imaging, to earthquake source processes, induced seismicity, and environmental seismology.
In the UPFLOW project, Stephen’s main work is focussed on observable design for improved imaging of mantle upwellings.
Maria Tsekmistrenko
Will Sturgeon
As part of the UPFLOW project, Will is developing global seismic images of anisotropy and attenuation including uncertainty quantification. He also conducts interpretations in terms of upward mantle flow guided by global geodynamical models.
Afonso Loureiro
Afonso joined UPFLOW for two months and was co-leader of the ocean bottom seismometer technical team during the deployment off-shore experiment. He was one of the main responsible persons for preparing, assembling and testing all the equipment prior to the deployment.
Katrina Harris
Katrina Harris completed her undergraduate degree in Geophysics at UCL in 2022 and her interest in seismology inspired her to apply for the UPFLOW program. Katrina is currently working on surface wave imaging of the Azores-Madeira-Canary islands region using UPFLOW data.
